Learn how our district successfully addressed the simultaneous implementation of two crucial new initiatives that both required significant professional development for teachers. Over the summer, Tahoma classrooms saw the replacement of projectors with interactive flat panels, coinciding with the transition to a new elementary math curriculum. Despite time and budget constraints, we strategically combined the training for both initiatives into a comprehensive full-day session for teachers, funded through existing technology professional development resources. This innovative approach not only accommodated the teachers' limited availability and the ongoing substitute shortage but also delivered a highly engaging and pertinent learning experience. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with statements like, "This was the best training I've gone to in years!" We are excited to share our successful model, confident that it will set a new standard for future professional development in our system.
