Key district systems - including Learning Management Systems (LMSs), SISs, and EdTech Effectiveness systems - equip districts to achieve the operational sustainability needed to drive teaching and learning in ways that are innovative, equitable, and budget-conscious, and to be empowered with high-quality data to make decisions.

Districts across Oregon and Washington count on their learning management system, Canvas, and their Edtech Management system, LearnPlatform, to help drive organizational and fiscal sustainability, and to be positioned as a district to support teacher innovation and efficiency for the long term. Both systems provide meaningful data to drive district decision-making forward.

Districts customize and implement Canvas and LearnPlatform in ways that achieve sustainability by:

-Creating and codifying district Teaching and Learning practices so that their LMS is used effectively and innovatively.
-Making the most of the data and organizational interoperability of their LMS, SIS, and EdTech Effectiveness systems.
-Empowering teachers and administrators with high quality formative data to drive classroom instruction and instructional decisions.
-Saving and conserving funds with meaningful data that supports strategic decisions about programs and program use.
-Saving teachers time by providing a “central source of truth” about programs and program adoption.
-Having an organization-wide pulse on the programs being used regularly to facilitate conversations and conscientiousness for administration and staff.

Our panel will discuss how they achieve their goals, what challenges they face, and what their important considerations are for this year and next.
